After graduating from Temple University, H.M. Saffer, II moved to Paris where he became a professional artist and musician. He has also had successful careers as a songwriter and music producer, as well as a chef and restauranteur.
Before returning to the U.S.in 1970, H.M. completed studies at L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts. In the early 1980s, he began to study the art of Sumi-e, later travelling to Japan to study with Japanese masters. His current works are a reflection of his blending of oriental techniques with western techniques. He has exhibited internationally and across the U.S. and Canada.
